Mario Cresci

Ex / Post. Orizzonti momentanei

A cura di a cura di Emma Zanella e Alessandro Castiglioni

6 September  -  19 October 2014

MA*GA presents a solo show of the italian artist and photographer Mario Cresci. Mario Cresci has been a key referee for those who were researching on photographic language experimental use since the Sixties. For this occasion he presents 43 works, especially created for the exhibition Ex / Post. Orizzonti momentanei (Momentary Horizons).
The museum invited Cresci for Officina Contemporanea [OC] - Sistema Culturale Urbano, to carry out a site-related work on the theme of the city. The exhibition, curated by Emma Zanella and Alessandro Castiglioni, tells the Gallarate district geographical and architectural identity out from any stereotype. Cresci managed to get the complex stratification of this territory in his photos. Indeed, the title of the project refers to the continuous changes and settlements of a landscape in constant transformation, from industrial archeology to those structures who have been transformed into something different, such as the Museum of Flight at Malpensa.
