The MA*GA Museum is collaborating on the project Geography and Mystery, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo and the Italian Consulate in Alexandria, Egypt. The initiative is supported by the “Promotion of Italian Photography Abroad” grant from the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture. The project features artists Marina Ballo Charmet and Stefano Cagol and will take place in Alexandria in September 2025 as part of the international event Tales of Two Cities, promoted by Art d'Egypte.
The project will be preceded by a study day and invitation-only workshop, held in the Ottavio Missoni Tapestry Hall at the MA*GA Museum on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The event will showcase video works from the MA*GA collection — THE BODY OF ENERGY (OF THE MIND) by Stefano Cagol and WITH THE CORNER OF THE EYE by Marina Ballo Charmet — in dialogue with videos by Karim El Hayawan and Gamal Meleka.
