INTRECCI #5
MA*GA and MISSONI for Art and Education
The INTRECCI project, conceived by Museo MA*GA in collaboration with Maison Missoni, Fondazione Ottavio e Rosita Missoni and Archivio Missoni, offers students, teachers, and museum audiences theoretical and practical programs dedicated to textile language and its connections with contemporary art.
Through an in-depth exploration of the Ottavio Missoni Tapestry Room, participants have the opportunity to discover the creative universe of Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, recognizing its originality and innovative impact.
INTRECCI aims to highlight the deep connection between textile production and artistic, technological, and social research by developing the ability to interpret and communicate through forms, colors, and materials.

THE STORY OF THE WEAVE
Beginning with a visit to the Ottavio Missoni Tapestry Room, students are guided through an in-depth exploration of the history of textiles and their connection with the territory in which they are produced.
The analysis of the forms, rhythms, and colors that characterize the tapestries created by Ottavio Missoni — using fabrics that made the company internationally renowned — becomes the starting point for an engaging workshop experience.
Using small tabletop looms, students experiment with weaving by working with fabrics and yarns, selecting colors and materials according to their own creative intuitions.

ARTS AND CRAFTS
The MA*GA exhibition program for 2026 is entirely dedicated to abstraction: the exhibitions Kandinsky and Italy and Paolo Scheggi. Environments, Words, Actions explore, through different artistic languages, elements such as space, form, color, and rhythm.
Within the experimental workshop, students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the artists’ poetics, engage in dialogue and discussion starting from the exhibited works, and design their own compositions using precious materials from the Missoni Archive, translating the principles of abstract art into visual and tactile experiences.
The museum activity integrates knowledge acquired in school into a creative process that develops students’ skills through a cross-disciplinary design approach.
