EPHEMERA. ATTRAVERSO LA CARTA

The exhibition presents a selection of works from the Museum's collection that have never been seen before. These works share a transience and lightness that can be attributed both to the material they are made of, paper, and to the circumstances that led to their completion or the themes to which the individual elements refer. 
The different sections of the exhibition present very important pieces in the history of MA*GA that have never been exhibited before, have been recently acquired, or are part of collections that are the subject of new in-depth studies. 
 
The exhibition opens with collections of great importance, dedicated to two historical figures whose archives are being cataloged and studied by the museum: Silvio Zanella, artist and founder of the museum, and sculptor Vittorio Tavernari. 
The exhibition then continues with a historical reflection on material experimentation with paper, beginning with Giuseppe Spagnulo and ending with Luca Vitone. 
There is then a section dedicated to a 1998 project, created at the historic Civica Galleria d'Arte Moderna on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Giacomo Leopardi: invited by Gino Gini, some of the most important contemporary conceptual artists and visual poets dedicated works to the master of Recanati.
Works on paper by Irma Blank, Lucia Pescador, William Xerra, and Roberto Sanesi are on display for the first time at MA*GA. 

The exhibition closes with a contemporary section featuring a reconstruction of Bianco Valente's immersive environment, The effort to recompose my complexity, reconstructed for the first time since 2008, and works by Chiara Camoni, Michele Ciacciofera, Marco Giordano, and Luca Bertolo.
The project is completed by a focus on a selection of unpublished chalcography prints by Barbara De Ponti.
