On the occasion of In Vetrina, a special project of Milano MuseoCity 2026, the MA*GA Museum—leading institution of the Archivi del Contemporaneo network—presents an exhibition project hosted in the heart of Brera at the Moroso flagship store, an international point of reference for design.

Milano MuseoCity, promoted by the Municipality of Milan and the MuseoCity ETS Association, transforms the city into a widespread, open museum by activating a network of more than twenty galleries and shops that host works, documents, and projects from over thirty museums and archives. An urban programme that invites the public to explore 20th-century and contemporary cultural heritage through site-specific interventions and new contexts of display.

Within this framework, the Moroso flagship store welcomes Archivi del Contemporaneo, a network founded in 2019 with the aim of enhancing archives, artistic collections, house museums, and foundations that preserve the memory and practices of modern and contemporary art. The exhibition project brings into dialogue three partner institutions of the network: the [MAP] Museo di Arte Plastica, the Associazione Il Borgo di Lucio Fontana, and the Fondazione Sangregorio Giancarlo.

The exhibition unfolds through a selection of archival materials, artworks, and testimonies dedicated to three key figures of 20th-century Italian art: Enrico Baj, Lucio Fontana, and Giancarlo Sangregorio. The project stems from the desire to reveal a web of personal and intellectual relationships that shaped some of the most vital seasons of Italian artistic research, marked by exchanges, dialogue, and creative affinities. Works and documents thus construct a shared narrative of places, conversations, and imaginaries, where experimentation, materiality, and creative thought intertwine.

The dialogue with Moroso further expands the project’s perspective, extending reflection beyond the traditional boundaries of the museum. In this encounter between design and archives, Archivi del Contemporaneo reaffirms the value of artistic heritage as a living matter, capable of generating new interpretations and connections in the present.
