JAGO. CORPI ESPOSTI

Curated by Tommaso Zijno
From 15 November 2026

A project promoted by Museo MA*GA, Regione Lombardia – Department of Culture, and the Municipality of Gallarate.

Museo MA*GA presents Jago. Corpi Esposti, curated by Tommaso Zijno. The exhibition places Jago’s works in dialogue with historical works by some of the leading figures in over a century of Italian artistic research. Although they worked in different eras and contexts, these artists are brought together around a shared narrative: spoliation as an act of revelation, and war as an extreme condition in which the body becomes a battleground. The result is an unprecedented exhibition project that sets in motion analogies, references and comparisons, tracing the ways in which the image of the human body has represented—and continues to represent—one of the key sites for exploring power, violence, mysticism and collective responsibility.

The project extends to Milan, at Palazzo Lombardia, with Acqua, a striking installation that explores the relationship between the solidity of matter and the fluidity of time.

The initiative is part of L’arte non è mai un’isola, selected under the 2026 Avviso Unico call for projects dedicated to institutions and organisations with the participation of Regione Lombardia. It stems from a shared vision that recognises art as a driving force for cultural and social growth, capable of fostering relationships, engaging communities and opening up new opportunities for participation, inclusion and the future.
